Fishpond House

A large detached house built in the 1970s set in an acre of its own gardens with mature trees and plants, and bordering a wood, with private driveway.

About the location

We're situated in a beautiful corner of Suffolk, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Shotley Peninsula. The house is just a few yards from one of the two local pubs, the village church and store, and plenty of walks. Just a couple of miles from the tidal River Stour estuary with fabulous wild beaches (you can swim all year round in the very sheltered waters), and on the other side of the peninsula, the River Orwell, very popular with sailors. As if that wasn't enough water, we're half a mile from Alton Water, a man made lake and reservoir which also has wonderful walks and water activities. The county town of Ipswich is 15 minutes drive away, and we're also 15 minutes from railway station Manningtree, with frequent trains to London Liverpool Street in an hour.
