Hillside view of vineyards, forests and mountains

All-on-one level, comfortable home with small swimming pool in about 1 acre on the side of a hill looking across vineyards to the hills beyond. Whilst also lovely in winter, the situation is perfect for meals outside, whether immediately outside the terrace room (the glass doors of which can be fully opened) or at the long table under the mulberry tree. There are three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one of which has a bath). There is also a small self-contained shepherd's stone cottage which has two single beds currently joined to make one large bed, the room has a sink but no other bathing/lavatory facilities. The lounge links through to the open-plan kitchen area. We have wi-fi and television (French and most English). The house is almost at the top of a cul-de-sac so although there are neighbours we are relatively private.

About the location

Cotignac is a gem of a village that is equally as charming, 'living' and inspirational in winter as in summer. It is within 1.5 hours of four airports (Nice, Marseille, Toulon & Avignon) and within easy reach of the sea (about an hour from St Tropez, Iles des Porquerolles, Cassis etc). The beautiful city of Aix en Provence is one hour's drive away with all its sophistication and brilliant music festival - music which is frequently echoed in smaller festivals nearby. This is a brilliant area for hikers and also families with not-too-young children since the Gorge of Verdon and the Lac de St Croix are just north of us (where the lavender fields also provide a spectacular sight in June). Every day is a market day somewhere close by and excellent vineyards abound.
