Sheffield itself has plenty to offer- lots of shopping, 3 theatres, galleries and museums, festivals, plenty of great restaurants and a fantastic night life. A short train journey away you can get to numerous cities (London, Manchester, Chester, Leeds, Liverpool, York etc).
Within 15 minutes you can get to the beautiful rolling hills of the Derbyshire Peak District eating an original Bakewell pudding in Bakewell, walking around Chatsworth House, or having an adventure in the Peaks; or within 2 hours on the train you can be in London. It's perfect!
