Gorgeous, large Victorian town house in central York

We are experienced home swappers looking to exchange our recently renovated large 5 bed home, which is packed with Victorian charm and features and is split over three floors.

We can travel during school holidays or long weekends only. We are seeking home swaps with families and homes to a high standard as our own, to avoid disappointment. For that reason, we have given an honest and and detailed account of our home to ensure the best swap for both parties. Space, luxury, cleanliness and honesty are crucial, which in return you will receive from us in any swap agreed. We have swapped houses on five occasions, with requests to stay in our home over and over again and we are looking for the same feeling as we leave our holiday swaps to return home.😊

Our home:
On the ground floor there are two reception rooms (one of which has a sofa bed for two people), as well as a large kitchen diner with bi-folding doors that open up into the back yard in the summer. The kitchen is well-equipped with fully integrated appliances: dryer, dish washer, washing machine and coffee machine etc. There is also an under stairs w.c.

The first floor consists of a large master bedroom, and two further bedrooms. The first of these has a single bed, in addition to which there is a cot bed, which can accommodate a child up to the age of three. The second has a further single bed. There is also a family bathroom which has a separate walk-in shower and large double-ended bath.

The second floor has the last bedroom being offered, complete with double bed, as well as a shower room with w.c. (The fifth bedroom is used as storage and not part of swap).

Outside there is an enclosed garden with patio, table and chairs for dining and large trampoline to the front and an enclosed yard to the rear, with further table and chairs. Permit parking is in operation because of our central location and parking can be found to the front of the property opposite our home and permits are available if needed by prospective house swapper.

We have a young family and as such have lots of toys etc. for another family to enjoy during a house swap. Equally there is plenty of adult space for people to relax away from the madness of children and we can store most baby paraphernalia away if you are travelling as a child-free party.

We have already arranged our summer 2016 swap but are interested in swaps which fall during the Easter holidays (2017), June half term or New Year. Long weekends in UK or Ireland are also a possibility.

About the location

We live in the city of York, 15 minutes walk from York Minster. The city is steeped in Viking, Roman and Medieval history and there is plenty to see and do within walking distance, walk the Bar Walls, stroll in the Museum Gardens, Rowntree Park, Clifford's Tower, boat cruise on the River Ouse and more. Because of this, York is a popular tourist destination for long weekends and holidays for those wishing to experience the Yorkshire Moors and Dales at the same time.

By car the Yorkshire Dales and Moors are less than an hour's drive away for those that like the great outdoors and the seaside towns of Whitby, Sand's End and Robin Hood's Bay are popular days out for our family, as well as Beningborough Hall, Castle Howard and Fountain's Abbey. The train station is fifteen minutes walk from our home, where you can take the train to the coast also or Leeds (half an hour) or London or Edinburgh (within two hours). Our house is a five minutes walk from the local park but there are a number of larger parks in the area, as well as cycle tracks to take you around and out of this cycle friendly city.
