Among Dundee's main attractions - all located within easy walking distance - is the RSS Discovery at Discovery Point, a museum dedicated to the intrepid voyages of Captain Scott; and Dundee Contemporary Arts, a critically acclaimed performance venue, exhibition space and art-house cinema. From 2017, the cultural quarter will also be home to Dundee's very own Victoria and Albert Museum.

About the location

Dundee is located approximately one hour north of Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, and an hour or so south of its richest city, the oil centre of Aberdeen. It is a mere half-hour by car or train from the beautiful coastal area of Fife, with its sleepy fishing villages and picturesque historic ruins. About an hour inland lie the Cairngorms, with their popular ski resorts, and for those keen to explore the highlands and islands of the stunning West coast, it is a mere two-hour drive (on a good day) to the scenic port of Oban, with its regular ferry to the Isle of Mull or the northernmost city of Inverness - the gateway to Loch Ness. Dundee itself also boasts multiple attractions, within easy walking distance of our front door - including Captain Scott's RSS Discovery, the Dundee Contemporary Arts venue and cinema, and an upcoming new Victoria and Albert Museum (due to open in 2017).
