Large, furnished sun deck with two sets of sliding doors to access the deck and overlooking the ocean. Sun Deck faces south. The house is on five acres, three of which are fenced and landscaped. Many flowers and shrubs in the yard as well as fruit trees, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and more. Optional use of older, seven passenger toyota van for exploring the island of Gabriola and the larger Vancouver Island. Access to the island is from Nanaimo and is a 20 minute ferry ride.

About the location

Gabriola is an island of approximately 58 sq km and is self contained with a medical centre, fire department, grocery store, pharmacy, and numerous restaurants, pubs and shops. There are many beaches with lovely sand and easily accessible by car or short hikes. There are also well groomed hiking and bike trails throughout the island. We have two kayaks available to use and can arrange for more upon request. The kayaks are kept at a friend's beach house for easy access to the water. Gabriola has places to rent bikes and scooters and is generally very busy with activities for tourists all summer. People on Gabriola are friendly and welcoming to travelers. Many people come to Gabriola for the warm weather, great beaches, water activities, fishing, and sailing. It is a great summer vacation spot.
