Detached four bed bungalow home swap
Our home is situated in a very quiet rural area, just over a mile from the centre of Ramsey. It is a detached property with stunning mountain views and a large, enclosed garden. The bungalow has a master bedroom with ensuite, plus three further bedrooms and a family bathroom. There is also an extra WC.
The Isle of Man is a beautiful place which, 16 years on, retains that "on holiday" feeling. There are museums, castles, glens, hills, mountains and coastlines to explore.
Ramsey has a good selection of pubs and restaurants as well as several supermarkets and smaller shops. If you like the idea of quiet open spaces and enough fresh air to do you a lifetime, this is the place.
About the location
Ramsey is the island's second town, with a population of around 8k people. It is situated at the northern end of the island, with good links to all the other areas. There are regular bus services from Ramsey as well as a Tram that runs up and down the east coast.
Ramsey is well serviced with pubs and restaurants and even boasts a night club! There is a also a swimming pool and bowling alley, and several very kept parks with swings and slides. There are lots of places to explore locally on foot - beaches, glens, woods and mountains are all with walking distance of our home.
Getting to the Isle of Man: The island is serviced with good air and sea links. The ferry sails from Liverpool and Heysham and either crossing is available during the summer. For a car and four passengers expect to pay around £300 return in August. We tend to travel midweek to midweek to take advantage of the cheaper fares. Flights leave from Liverpool, Manchester and other regional airports as well as Gatwick. Easyjet fly to the island and with good forward planning, their return fares can be as little as £40 return. As we usually take the car in the summer, you would need to hire one if this was your preferred travel option.
