Our delightful seaside holiday pad is a ground floor flat accommodating no more than two guests for a week or two. Set in a pleasant level Edwardian terrace on Lyme Bay where East Devon meets Dorset's Jurassic Coast, HarbourSide is just a few steps from Seaton's south-facing pebble beach with its kilometer-long Esplanade that is part of the Westcountry Coastal Footpath. A gate from the sunny little paved back yard opens into Axmouth Harbour and boat park; out front is your off-road parking. Our kingsize bedroom has bath/shower ensuite, then a bright clean modest kitchen and comfortable sittingroom/diner with a large picture window to observe Axe Yacht Club, both river bridges and Axe Cliff Golf Club atop Haven Cliff across the river.

About the location

Seaton is a decent little Tesco town on the Axe river mouth, attracting families and holiday visitors in summer, being well served by interesting bus routes N,E and W. East are Lyme Regis, West Bay (aka Broadchurch) and Weymouth, with Lulworth Cove beyond again. To our west, amid red and white cliffs, are very pleasant quieter resorts on the Heritage Coast favoured by retired folk: Beer, Sidmouth and Budleigh. Not close to the wild moors of Devon but within reach of the popular coastline of Dorset and the market towns of Somerset such as Ilminster where we have another home.
