Decatur/Atlanta

Atlanta more than just the home of Gone with the Wind!

We live 6 miles from downtown Atlanta with shops, cinema and restaurant a 10 minute walk away. We are also on public transport but really Atlantans / Americans tend to drive everywhere! Atlanta is a very green and lush city not built to the typical American grid system so GPS or good map reading skills are a plus! we are a 10-15 minute drive to all the Atlanta attractions and there are many. We have the worlds largest aquarium, MLK center, CNN tours, Olympic park with surrounding attractions,Coca Cola museum (a must if you have kids or just like coke!)well regarded Atlanta zoo, stone mountain park, amusement parks, water parks.

Atlanta is a new city so much of the historical interest centers on the civil war and civil rights movement. We have antebellum houses and plantations within close proximity to the city and really are worth the visit.
Atlanta is a very family friendly city, its sub tropical climate lends itself to outdoor activities. In summer/autumn activities revolve around water due to the high temperatures and always sunny weather. We have plenty of Lakes, rivers and state parks close by which are popular in the summer months. There are many golf courses and not all require membership.

Atlanta is less than a 50 minute drive to the north Georgia mountains, beaches are about a 3 hour drive. Nashville, Savannah, Charleston, Great Smokey Mountains, Chattanooga are an easy drive. Memphis and New Orleans are a 6 hour drive. Florida is the next state so a combined Disney/beach trip is always an option. For longer distances Atlanta airport is he largest in the USA, so any destination is possible normally as a direct flight! We also have Amtrak interstate rail, which is a great experience but not the quickest travel option. America has yet to catch on to the high speed rail concept.

Our house is in a traditional family friendly neighbourhood, we have neighbourhood tennis courts and local summer swimming pools.
we have a very comfortable and spacious home suitable for families or couples. Our house has one master with full bathroom, one master with half bathroom. Two double bedrooms- one with a single bed and sofa bed, and the other has a double bed. We have an open concept kitchen, dining, living room that leads out to the back garden /patio area. There is a second separate living room which has a 2nd cable television.
We have a great back garden for outside dining, fire pit, BBQ and a detached 3 season sun room.
