Central for walking, cycling, touring Devon/Cornwall and 50 mins from north Cornish coast. Belstone is a friendly Dartmoor village with pub, river, ponies and sheep!

The Space

The house is comfortable for 8 adults, but there is also scope for accommodating extra children in a fifth bedroom.

Belstone is an ideal village for families as it is safe, quiet and full of magic for children, with roaming animals and the beautiful River Taw to splash and swim in just a few minutes walk from the house. Have a look at the Belstone Village website. There are numerous National Trust properties nearby as well as magnificent gardens. Dartmoor National Park is one of the UK's last wildernesses and Belstone is the perfect place from which to experience the moor.

Getting around

Public transport is limited but there is a bus service from Exeter which stops just a mile and a half out of the village. Taxis are always an option. However, if you are keen walkers then there are enough walks directly from the house to keep you busy for at least a week. The local pub has an extensive menu, so no need to drive! And Waitrose deliver!

About the location

We are on the northern edge of Dartmoor National Park, close to the "high moor", an area well known for its walking/riding/cycling opportunities. This is central Devon so the coasts of North and South Devon, as well as Cornwall, are within easy reach. Okehampton is only 3 miles away, and has supermarkets, cinema and restaurants, while Exeter is a 30-minute drive. National Trust properties abound in this region, and the Eden Project can be reached in an hour.
