Ivybridge, Devon

We have a spacious period property with a kitchen, dining room, lounge with wood burner, two double rooms (one en suite), two children`s rooms and family bathroom.

There is a garden with a trampoline and we have a gas bbq for the sunny summer nights.

We live in the lovely Devon village of Ivybridge, known as the Gateway to the Moors. It has a number of village pubs, butchers, cafes, leisure centre, local cinema and from our house you can walk straight up onto Dartmoor via Longtimber woods.

About the location

You can easily drive onto various parts of Dartmoor to go for short or long walks, visit stunning locations like Hay Tor or swim in the crystal clear rivers ( around a 15 minute drive from our house).

We are also close to the beautiful South Devon beaches, including Bigbury with it`s famous sea tractor and Burgh island ( 20 minute drive).

Near by are numerous National Trust properties including Saltram, Cotehele, Buckland Abbey and Overbecks. You can have use of a National Trust pass as well.

A short drive away is Dartmoor Zoo, where the film We Bought a Zoo with Matt Damon was inspired by. You can even have a chat with Benjamin Mee most days!

Into Plymouth is a wealth of naval and military history, and visit the Mayflower steps on the Barbican ( a historical cobbled part of Plymouth on the harbour front). As well as eating fantastic locally caught fish and chips you can visit the National marine Aquarium, with the biggest tanks in Europe.

This is a great location for Dartmoor national park, countryside walks, beach trips and culture in the city.
