Our house lies a few miles west of Cambridge, UK, in a quiet location surrounded by arable fields. However, you can be in the centre of vibrant Cambridge in 20 minutes by car! London is 45 minutes by train from local stations.

Our home is a semi detached house which used to be a farm worker`s home, situated in the middle of fields, a mile outside a beautiful, small village.
Our house is characterised by books, oak, patchwork and art. There is a lovely sunny garden room for the summer and a snug sitting room with a woodburner for the winter. We have four bedrooms ( 2 doubles, 1 twin, 1 single) and full central heating. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor with an adjacent shower room, suitable for someone with limited mobility.
In our driveway, there is plenty of parking space for three cars.
We have a spacious garden with plenty of seating for you to enjoy the views over adjacent fields with miles of footpaths around the adjoining fields and small woods.
For families, we have plenty of children`s books, dvds, lego etc

Cambridge is a great place to visit, just 20 minutes away by car.

About the location

Boxworth village has only 200 residents but has a pub and restaurant, a church, a village hall and a phone box book library! There is a community food shop in the next village, an M&S Food two miles away and two large supermarkets within five miles.
The area is flat which makes it ideal for walking and cycling around the fields and woodlands.
There are several national Trust and heritage sites nearby.
Visit the Cambridge museums, galleries and Colleges, go punting on the Cam, choose from lots of good restaurants. From there a fast train will get you to London in 45 minutes. The rest of East Anglia, including the lovely coast, is within reach on day trips. We love living here, we are sure you will enjoy visiting. Here is our most recent review from an American family:

Lovely home exchange in the English countryside!
We greatly enjoyed our bucolic retreat in Boxworth, UK (near Cambridge, UK). The Kings are expert "home exchange" partners, with extensive experience in preparing their guests to make the most of the time in their home and in England.
The Kings received us with warmth and generosity. They had prepared binders rich with information and left for us many maps, guidebooks, and all kinds of other resources to enjoy the countryside as well as Cambridge.
The house was clean, homey, and comfortable for our family of 5. We all enjoyed the lovely garden, the peace and quiet, and the helpful neighbors. We had excellent communication throughout our stay and in fact became good friends. We heartily recommend this house exchange without reservation!
