It is on three levels so have a think about managing the stairs. Kitchen is on ground floor with sitting room and bedroom and second loo on first and then two beds and bathroom on second. Lovely places to eat right on the doorstep, quirky, independent shops and markets within a few steps, specialising in organic, local food. Classical concerts, Glyndebourne Opera House, rock and folk gigs, art galleries, Independent films, fascinating talks. Walk the Chalk Hills, chat to friendly locals in the many traditional pubs, sipping real ale from Lewesown brewery, Harveys. Local golf course within walking distance. The town is steeped in history from Virginia Woolf to Tom Paine to our Medieval Castle. Lewes is one of the original Transition Towns and our November Fire Celebration is world famous (youtube it). Swim in the outside public pool, spring fed, first in England.

Take the train to the beaches and great shopping Laines of Brighton (10min) into the centre of London (1hr) a day trip to France. Visit Eastbourne, Charleston House/(Bloomsbury Set), Antique and Auctions. Eat, Play, Rest.
