Lovely 2 Bed home in Tarcal, Hungary

An attractive traditional village cottage in Hungary's Tokaj wine region. The cottage has been restored and modernised, retaining original features. Two large rooms accommodate either a couple or a small family with a child. There is a fully-equipped kitchen/dining room, a bathroom /wc, plus a separate shower room /wc. There are front and rear gardens, with lawns, fruit trees and grape vines, a herb garden, a covered, furnished outside eating place, and a car port.

The village is surrounded by vineyards and there are numerous local vintners where you can taste and buy Tokaj wines. The area became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. The main feature of the local countryside is the Zemplen Hills, of which the Tokaj mountain is the southernmost point. For the energetic, it's good walking or cycling country, while for car drivers there are many centres of interest in towns and villages further afield. On the artistic side, the area attracts painters and musicians.

The village is about 220 km from Hungary's capital city, Budapest, and is easily accessible either by road (2½ - 3 hours) or by rail (about 3½ hours).
