This is a centrally-located, 3-bedroom flat of 125 m2 situated on the top floor of a classical period building on the Buda side of the Danube within a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Directly overlooking the river, the flat offers panoramic views from the main rooms and the balcony.
Majestically high ceilings, full-height windows, Oriental rugs and large double doors to interconnecting rooms lend the property a feeling of lightness and elegance.
The spacious, fully-equipped kitchen-diner contains up-to-date mostly Siemens appliances, including dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven and large fridge-freezer, and microwave. The worktop is granite and the wood cabinetry is maple. The dining table easily seats eight.
Budapest is a beautiful, enchanting, city. Often called the 'Paris of Eastern Europe', it is renowned for its wonderful thermal baths, imposing architecture, tempting patisseries, varied restaurants, 'ruinbars, numerous concert venues, caves and atmospheric cafes.
One such cafe, the New York, offers extraordinary, luxurious beauty of a magnitude that has earned it the title of 'Most Beautiful Cafe in the World (ucityguides.com - which also include Budapest in their list of 'Most Beautiful Cities in the World').
Public ransport links are excellent. There are three bus routes and three tram routes within a few moments walk of the property. One bus stop away is central Pest and one tram stop away are the famed Gellert baths and a station on the newly opened metro line 4.
A cycle path runs along the embankment directly in front of the property. Budapest lends itself to exploration on two wheels wonderfully.
The medieval Castle Hill district and the spectacular newly-reconstructed Varkert Bazaar (see http://www.varkertbazarinfo.hu/) are within easy walking distance.
Another easy walk up the adjacent Taban Hill leads to the Oxygen Wellness Centre, a state-of-the-art fitness-spa facility, and a clay court tennis club.
Available by negotiation are my car (a right-hand drive Volvo estate, 1993 registration but running well) and up to four bicycles.
