Lovely 4 Bed home in Lewes, England

Our charming, comfortable Edwardian 4 bedroom house - "Lingholm"- is over 100 years old. We have been restoring it for the last five years to its original beauty. We have now almost finished it,although there are a few things still to be done, like new carpet in some places. However,we hope you can see from the pictures that it is a wonderful place to stay.

Lingholm is situated on a quiet, wide leafy road in Lewes, a lovely family-friendly county town in East Sussex, situated in the South Downs National Park (www.southdowns.gov.uk). You can walk up onto the Downs from our house in 10 minutes. The Downs are wonderful for walking, mountain biking and running. The well known South Downs Way path can be reached from our house in about 45 minutes.

We're 15 minutes walk from the centre of town, where you will find a farmersmarket, independent shops (including vintage clothes and second-hand books), art galleries, a wonderful range of antique shops and award-winning restaurants/pubs and the Harveys Brewery. We also have the beautiful Grange Gardens, the Lewes castle, tennis courts, including grass ones, at the Southdown Tennis Club, a children's playground and leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, slide, and roller skating. There is also the wonderful, community owned Pells Pool, which is an outdoor pool, almost olympic sized, fed by spring water.

There is a very helpful Tourist Information centre in the centre of Lewes (www.lewes.gov.uk/business; www.information-britain.co.uk/county4/townguideLewes/).

Our home can sleep 6 (2 bedrooms with single beds; 1 double bedroom; 1 bedroom with double sofa bed;plus 2 camp beds); living room with wood burning stove, tv, DVD player; music room with piano and music centre, plus tv; large kitchen/dining room; family sized bathroom with bath and separate shower; downstairs bathroom; garden with patio furniture and climbing frame.

Transport links are excellent: we are 7 miles (a 15 minute train ride) from the vibrant seaside city of Brighton (www.visitbrighton.com) and 60 miles from London. Direct trains run to London regularly, and take about an hour. We are also only 40 minutes away from Gatwick by train,and a 20 minute drive from the Newhaven ferry port with regular ferries to Dieppe, France.

We're interested in simultaneous house swaps for two weeks+ in August in Europe, and for one week in October half term in Cumbria.
