Lovely 3 Bed home in Wellington, New Zealand

Large, newly renovated 3 bedroom home with expansive views over the city and surrounding hills. Walking distance to city centre.

Our home is in Newtown, a central suburb of Wellington. It takes 30 mins to walk into the city or 15 mins on the frequent buses. Newtown is a thriving suburb with great coffee shops, restaurants, supermarket, specialty shops, etc. and is only a 7 min walk.

Wellington is the capital of New Zealand and boasts excellent museums, art galleries, cinemas, theatres and dance venues. It has restaurants and bistros of every caliber. Lord of the Rings and many other movies were filmed here, so you can explore some of the filming locations. It is a city built on 200 mountains so the scenery is spectacular and there are numerous walking and biking tracks over the hills. It takes about 30 mins to walk to one of the many beaches, but the sea is usually cold as the harbour is deep. The (indoor and warm) Wellington aquatic centre is a 5 min walk.

The house is on a hill with a fantastic outlook across the valley and a large deck to relax on while admiring the view. It has a huge kitchen / dining / living room with a log burning stove for the winter nights.

The kitchen is fully equipped with two hobs/ovens, large fridge freezer and loads of cupboard space. There are two queen bedrooms upstairs, one with ensuite and sunroom, and another queen bedroom downstairs. Two other rooms are furnished as offices/study.
Downstairs is a one bedroom self contained flat 40m2, with large bathroom, and kitchen/living area. There is also a double sofa bed down here.

There is a small garden, mostly devoted to veggie growing (no lawn).

The house is at the end of the street up a zig-zag path and the neighbours all know each other so it has a lovely community feel.

The house can cater comfortably to 6 people, 8 if you use the sofa bed. 3 queen beds and a double sofa bed.

There is NO TV but we do have high speed internet available. We may be able to lend the car with the house. We also have bicycles available. Sorry, no pets. No smoking in the house or garden.

The flat downstairs is completely self contained so can be offered for exchange even when we are here (ie asynchronous exchange). It caters for 2 people, 4 if you use the sofa bed (but this does take up a lot of the living room floor space).
