Our home, which is more than 100 years old, was subject to a major rebuild just two years ago and now features a lovely hand-crafted kitchen with an AGA and floor-to-ceiling foldback glass doors. It is located in charming and leafy Highgate, with its beautiful Georgian architecture, first-class travel links to Central London, as well as having close proximity to open spaces such as Highgate Wood, Regents Park and Hampstead Heath.

In addition to the three bedrooms, our house has two reception rooms, separated by double doors, one of which houses a piano. There is also a smart utility room in the attic. The small garden has a patio and a barbecue. Upstairs is a family bathroom and downstairs there is an additional toilet.

Highgate village is a stylish enclave and was home to several esteemed English poets and writers, such as John Betjemen, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Charles Dickens; today it is a favourite of film stars and directors, supermodels and luminaries of the music industry. It has several long-established traditional English pubs, a selection of restaurants, a beautiful park and the famous Highgate Cemetery, final resting place of Karl Marx and a host of notable people, including many of the pre-Raphaelite painters.

Our house is a ten-minute walk from Highgate and Archway Underground stations, and there are frequent buses into central London just a few minutes from our front door. Hampstead and Crouch End and their many attractions are close by, as is Camden and its famous market. The countryside of Berkshire is easily accessible from here, as are the counties of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. We are well-situated for airports, with London City Airport and Stanstead being particularly close, for weekends in Europe.

The Eurostar Rail Terminal is also nearby - with regular trains to Paris and other European destinations (London - Paris takes 2 hours and 15 minutes)

We are also close the Emirates Stadium - home to Arsenal Football Club.
