Bank Nook

Our home is a detached three storey weavers cottage and former Sunday School. On the ground floor is a kitchen, utility room and small shower room. There is a comfortable lounge and study on the middle floor and the three bedrooms and family bathroom are on the top floor.

The house is double glazed and centrally heated, supplemented by solid fuel stoves in the lounge and the kitchen. We have a detached sun room next to the house which makes a good separate play area or quiet reading room! We have a wooden hot tub to the front of the house.

We have one cat and four chickens (although numbers fluctuate depending on Mr Fox). We would like you to care for our animals but our friendly neighbours can do this if required. Unfortunately, this would prevent exchangers bringing pets.

About the location

We are in the heart of Luddite country. Our home is one of four houses in a quiet rural hamlet and is surrounded by open fields. It is ideal place for walking, cycling or just relaxing. We are within two miles of the local villages which have good rail links to Huddersfield,Manchester and York. Our local pub is a half mile (uphill) walk and serves food and a variety of real ales.

Dark Woods Coffee and Zapato Brewery are on the canalside a 5 minute walk away. We are three miles from from the National Trust`s Marsden Moor Estate. The nearby village of Slaithwaite has plenty of bars, cafes and is home to the Empire Brewery and the Handmade Bakery. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the Bronte Museum and the Lowry Centre are an hour`s drive away
