Bank Nook home swap

Our home is one of four houses in a small hamlet in the Pennines. It is a detached Grade 2 listed weavers cottage which was formerly used as a Non Conformist Sunday School. The cottage has three floors. There is a stone flagged kitchen/dining room and a utility room on the ground floor. We have a comfortable lounge and study on the middle floor. There are three bedrooms and large family bathroom on the top floor.

The house is centrally heated, supplemented by solid fuel stoves in the lounge and the kitchen. We have just built a detached sun room next to the house which makes a good separate play area or quiet reading room! We have a wooden hot tub to the front of the house.

We have two cats and two chickens (although numbers fluctuate depending on Mr Fox). We would like you to care for our animals but our friendly neighbours can do this if required. Unfortunately, this would prevent exchangers bringing pets.

About the location

We live in the heart of Luddite country. Our home is at the end of a quiet lane, surrounded by open fields. It is an An ideal base for walking, cycling or just relaxing. We are within two miles of the local villages which have good rail links to Huddersfield,Manchester and York. Our local pub is a half mile (uphill) walk and serves food and a variety of real ales.

We are within 5 minutes drive from the National Trust's Marsden Moor Estate, the local Empire Brewery and the Handmade Bakery in Slaithwaite. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the Bronte Museum and the Lowry Centre are an hour's drive away
