Lovely 3 Bed home in Chartham, England

A beautiful 15th century cottage set within the pretty village of Chartham, Kings Head Cottage is spacious, full of character and warmth with unique original decor including exposed oak wooden beams throughout the building. It consists of two double bedrooms, one single bedroom, kitchen, shower room, bathroom and 2 lounges, all decorated in warm colours with a delightful garden and patio to enjoy al fresco meals. Oh, and parking too.

Due to the space within the house, it would be possible to easily accommodate 3 additional people (8 in total) if you supplied your own bedding.

Location & Getting About

Located 5 minutes from the historic city of Canterbury and 1 hour from London (by train, via Ashford), Kings Head Cottage is in a prime position from which you can explore the city, country and beach life (Whitstable, Margate, Folkestone) that The Garden of England has to offer.

There are many wonderful country walks to take from Chartham through orchards, fields and along the River Stour. Whether you are looking for an adventure or a peaceful stroll, we have a selection of OS maps for you to find your preferred path.

There is also a newly opened cycle path from Chartham to Canterbury following the River Stour. The route is entirely flat, and we've 2 mountain bikes available for you to use if you wish.

Chartham Village

The cottage has a view towards the village green, with the River Stour passing close by.

Village features include a local shop, country pub (The Artichoke, selling delicious home cooked fare - 5 minutes walk away), a fine old church, and a railway station (1 minute away) connecting you to London via Ashford and to Canterbury (4 minutes).

Canterbury

Canterbury city centre is only 4 miles away, and has a fantastic and rich history, wonderful shops (varying from the large and modern to the bespoke, set upon ancient streets) and excellent coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. Having 2 main line railway stations (Canterbury East and Canterbury West), it's also a great springboard from which to explore London and the rest of Kent.
