BAYSIDE HOME NEAR BRISBANE
Ours is a light & airy low set home adjoining a small, neighbourhood park with slide, swings etc. but, even better, is only a few houses from the water's edge. From here you can follow the coastal path for miles (stopping at a coffee shop or 2 along the way perhaps!).
The spacious living/dining/kitchen all face & open up to the private outdoor dining area & in-ground pool. Here you'll find a private side gate giving direct access into the park & straight down to the water, a 2 minute stroll.
We have 3 bedrooms & a craft room.
The master bedroom which overlooks the pool & the treetops of the park has a King size bed & ensuite bathroom with spacious walk-in shower.
Bedroom 2 has a Queen size bed.
Bedroom 3 (set up for VIP guests!) has 2 single beds.
Family bathroom has a shower over a deep, long bath (bubbles are optional).
We love our bayside home & have many happy family times here. We hope anyone who exchanges with us will enjoy it just as much!
About the location
We're located on the pretty Redcliffe Peninsula, just north of Brisbane & about 50 mins easy drive south of the Sunshine Coast. It's a very relaxed "beachy" lifestyle here with good coffee shops/restaurants/beachside picnic spots etc. There's a walking/cycling path which follows the stunning coastline all around including over the VERY long bridge (Houghton Highway) to the "mainland".
There are many local activities to be enjoyed apart from the obvious beach/ice-cream eating ones: boating, golf, walking, cycling, cinema, wind surfing, visiting nearby Moreton Island, Stradbroke Island & Bribie Island but one of the most popular, from June to October, is a day whale watching cruise with Brisbane Whale Watching. Their high speed vessel, the "Eye Spy", leaves from the Redcliffe Jetty, a 5 mins drive away.
Also the ever popular Australia Zoo, owned & managed by the Irwin family (Steve Irwin was known & much loved as The Crocodile Hunter) is only 40 mins away.
For truly beautiful & picturesque surf beaches, the Sunshine Coast (Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore all the way up to Noosa) is approx. 50 mins north.
Brisbane City (affectionately known as "the River City") is also only 50 mins drive or, if you prefer, a comfortable train ride away.
This part of the world enjoys a sub-tropical climate. Summer (Dec/Jan/Feb) is hot & sometimes humid (hence the swimming pool & air-conditioning) with the occasional thunder storm but the rest of the year is just glorious: bright blue skies, sunshine & the mildest of Winters. July is our coldest month with average daytime temperatures of 21C (70F) & nighttime temperatures of 11C (52F).
We have lovely neighbours but also kind, helpful family living nearby should you need them.
