Our home in the village of ASH is a 17th Century Hall house with magnificent inglenook fireplaces & cooking by AGA, winding staircases and plentiful beams. The garden,has been recently redesigned and the ancient well is now visible on glass platform cover which has internal lights. The garden room extension flows into the garden and is bordered with a stone terrace. There is a summer house with seating for 8 at the bottom of the garden.

About the location

In a central village location, within striking distance of the Norman Church which was a navigation point for ships through the English Channel. Now 4 miles inland located near to the Roman port of Richborough; close to many golf courses including the home of the British Open, Royal St Georges championship golf course and the medieval town of Sandwich. Canterbury Cathedral- World Heritage Site is 10 miles away; 12 miles to the port of Dover and your escape to France & beyond. The high speed rail makes it 55 mins to central London from Canterbury. Michelin starred restaurants abound & many other good restaurants closer and within the village.
A recent campaign by villagers to save the local pub was successful and the Chequer Inn re- opened in 2019. In September 2022 new tenants were appointed and the place is buzzing with a great atmosphere, reasonably priced draught beers and a great well priced pub grub menu. For culture-the recently opened Turner Contemporary Gallery at Margate & the Marlow Theatre Canterbury are close by. We are close to the sandy beaches of Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs. Deal, Dover and Folkestone offer many attractions as does Hythe and the beaches beyond to Romney Marsh.
