Seaside house

Lovely house in small seaside town of Aguadulce, on the South East coast of Spain.

Open plan kitchen/dining area, living room with open fire, piano and large french windows leading onto spacious terrace with fantastic view of mountains and sea. BBQ and garden furniture (and utility room) on terrace. One bedroom with two single beds (1 pulls out from under the other), 1 double room with en-suite bathroom, a study,/lounge with a small double sofa bed and another bathroom. House is in an enclosed (24 hour security) residential complex with large swimming pool, padel court, garden and children`s play area.

We have a variety of toys, games and books for children, (Noah is 13) but can also leave baby/toddler equipment, car seats etc.

AREA DETAILS

Aguadulce is a small friendly town on the South East coast of Spain. Popular in summer with Spanish families from cities in the North of Spain. Very child friendly. Our house is less than 5 minutes (walking) from the beach. Great beach with fabulous "chiringuitos" - beach restaurants. Marina a 20 minute walk along the promenade. Up in the town (10 minute walk) there are supermarkets, delis, and more restaurants and tapas bars.

Our "boat" is a kayak which is easily wheeled down to the beach. Lots of other water sports on offer. Good weather all year round (sunniest province of Spain), but especially beautiful in the summer, when we tend to spend the whole day outdoors - from breakfast to supper. We can leave bikes to use.

The capital city Almeria is a 15 mins drive along the coast and great for tapas in the evening. Granada is just 1.5 hours by car: The Alhambra is a must-see. `El parque natural de Cabo de Gata, a protected coastal area is just along the coast - 30 mins/1 hour+ depending on where you go. In Cabo de Gata you can find stunning beaches, completely wild (and often empty - even in August).

The Alpujarra mountain region is close (from an hour) and is great for hiking, and you can be on the ski slopes of Sierra Nevada in under 2 hours - nice to get up early, ski all day and then come home for dinner.

If golf is your thing there is a course just 10 mins away by car, and another two about 20 mins.

Almeria Airport is a half hour drive away. More flights on offer to Malaga, Alicante, Granada and Murcia - which are all from 2.5 to 3 hours away. We usually car swap.
