Cedarmist

Our cedar cottage is surrounded by rainforest in a quiet rural setting, five minutes from the village of Robertson. The home is somewhat like the Tardis, bigger than it first appears. The entrance is a courtyard, lovely for a coffee in the sunshine looking into the shady rainforest.

Downstairs the living, formal dining and kitchen areas all have views into the rainforest. Great for bird watching. The living area has cathedral ceilings and a wood fire. The modern galley style kitchen opens to the laundry and carport access.

The second bedroom has a high quality double sofa bed, its own bathroom and and toilet and looks into the courtyard. There is a separate loft bedroom with double sofa bed. The large groundfloor screened verandas look into the rain forest with glimpses of the distant valley views. There are ample barbecue facilities.

Our upstairs main bedroom has panoramic views over valleys and grazing lands and its en suite looks over a section of rain forest. The upstairs veranda is ideal for sunsets or stargazing.

It is a child and seniors friendly home.

About the location

Robertson is an ideal base for the traveller. It has cultural and outdoor pursuits close by. It is only an hour and a half to Sydney and two and a half hours to Canberra, making an easy day trip to either. 40 minutes to beaches and Wollongong and 25 minutes to other town centres for shopperholics.

Within half an hour of home you can visit a choice of beautiful waterfalls, visit the Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk, entertain the whole family with wet and wild rides at Jamberoo Action Park. There is an award winning Visitors Centre at nearby Fitzroy Falls National Park. The many scenic drives in the local area include vineyards and restaurants along the way. There are some magic swimming holes tucked away in the valleys.

We look over the Kangaroo Valley which is a very popular destination for canoeing, camping, art and craft galleries and cafes.

Robertson boasts cafes, pub, galleries, historic steam train station, Music Society, bus service to the major train lines. We have 3 bikes available for the short ride in to Robertson.
