Lovely 4 Bed home in Brenchley, England

The house was build in 1938 and sits in its own grounds of approximately 1 acre. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and very private. We have recently fully renovated our home, whilst retaining its country cottage charm.

Both the sitting room and drawing/dining room have log burning stoves, hand-carved stone fire surrounds and original hardwood floors. The kitchen/ breakfast/ family room is large, bright and airy with french windows which open onto a dining terrace with mutli-fuel BBQ and secluded back garden. The kitchen is fully equipped with an Aga range cooker as well as a ceramic hob and two electric ovens, a dish-washer and an American-sized fridge-freezer. The family room has a full entertainment system with a 55" flat-screen TV.

The upper floor has a games room, equipped with a large flatscreen TV and a Wii. There are three large bedrooms with king-sized beds, as well as a single bedroom and three bathrooms. We have a home-wide entertainment system storing hundreds of films, thousands of TV programs and even more music !

There is a delightful Summer House with raised patio offering striking views of the front garden. We have a small organic kitchen garden to which you would be welcome to help yourselves, and our chickens provide fresh free-range eggs daily. We also have several young fruit trees as well as mature cherries and figs.

The house is a stone-throw away from the centre of Brenchley, a charming small village with a church dating back to the 13th century. The main village street still contains a attractive houses from various periods including a tudor palace housing the current post office. In the village centre you can also find a deli/cafe, a butcher's and a Victorian public house which offers traditional English fare. The village is six miles to the east of historic Royal Tunbridge Wells. Surrounded by orchards and farmland, it lies in the heart of the Weald of Kent and in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Amongst nearby attractions are Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill, and over a dozen other National Trust properties. We are also within easy driving distance of Canterbury's awe-inspiring gothic cathedral (a World Heritage Site) and Brighton, famous for its Pavilion (www.brighton-hove-rpml.org.uk) and marvellous antiquing. London is only 45 minutes away via a frequent mainline train service from Paddock Wood train station, less than two miles away.

We are looking for weekend swaps in Europe, or longer breaks anywhere in the world! We are also open to non-simultaneous swaps. The house will be available for the duration of the London 2012 Olympics.
