Spacious flat/apartment near the sea home swap

Brighton is a thriving seaside city, cultural and arty but also provides good shopping, famous local attractions (Pavilion, Pier and the Lanes) and is very family-friendly with lots of brilliant parks and things to do. Brighton provides easy access for day trips to London (50 minutes on train) as well as Lewes, Chichester, Arundel and Eastbourne. Public transport is not inexpensive but it is possible to exchange without having access to a car as we have great bus service five minutes from our house and a bus that goes to the main Brighton train station.

Our spacious and bright flat with communal roof terrace is located about four miles from central Brighton. We are a five-minutes walk from the sea, park & local shops (open until 10pm seven days a week) and a ten minute walk from rural downland (The South Downs National Park) Great bus links to central Brighton and Eastbourne but also fairly good on-street parking. Gatwick airport is a 45 min drive away.

On top of master bedroom, we have a double sofa bed, a bunk bed and a baby's room with cot and child's bed. Large fully-equipped kitchen (and IKEA play kitchen!). Lots of toys, books and DVD's for children. We have a 48-inch flat screen TV, many books and a small collection of board games for adults.

About the location

We live in a suburb of Brighton called Saltdean -home of the famous art deco Saltdean Lido (currently being completely renovated). It is quiet, family friendly and a great place to relax and unwind after the hecticness of bustling central Brighton. All the basic amenities are here; post office, mini supermarket, greengrocer, butcher's, fish & chips, Chinese and Indian take-aways. We live a five minute walk from an undercliff path that takes you along a quiet beach all the way to Brighton pier. At low tide, it is great for rockpooling. Just down the road is the pretty village of Rottingdean, once home of Rudyard Kipling, which has great pubs, coffee shops, a windmill and the beautiful Kipling Gardens. Our location is ideally situated for ramblers as we have the beautiful South Downs behind us and you can walk for hours (or days) admiring the views and wildlife.
