Lovely 4 Bed home in Strangford, Ireland

Our house is a listed cottage built around 1850 with many original features including open fires. It has a safe enclosed cottage garden to the rear with a children's playhouse.

The charming village of Strangford is a Conservation Area set around a castle and a small harbour with a regular ferry across Strangford Lough to Portaferry and the rugged Ards Peninsula. There are two good restaurants in Strangford, plus two pubs and a good range of shops, with an excellent bus service to the nearby town of Downpatrick. There is a good range of activities for children, including the Exploris aquarium in Portaferry, an excellent adventure playground at Castle Ward, and a sandy beach at nearby Kilclief. There are also many good coastal walks and historic attractions, and the countryside and wildlife are beautiful with regular sightings of red kites and seals. The Mourne Mountains are just a short drive away, and the exciting city of Belfast is around 40 minutes away.
