Our apartment is located in the Queens borough of New York City, the most ethnically-diverse area on Earth!
You'll probably want to spend most of your stay visiting Manhattan. The express subway stop is just around the block, a 2 minute walk away. After a 25-30 minute ride, you're in midtown Manhattan (Central Park, Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, Times Square). A direct subway line takes you to downtown (World Trade Center, Wall Street, Statue of Liberty) in less than an hour. We commute this way every day!
If you decide to take a day off from the intense Manhattan, there's plenty to do in the area as well. A 5 minute bike ride away lies a great lively park with a large lake (Corona Park), and you can even bike all the way to Flushing Meadows, the site of the US Tennis Open. We own 2 bikes which you can use. A fancy shopping area (Austin Street) is within a 5 minute walk. Also, the upscale historic community of Forest Hills Gardens is well worth a stroll through - you won't believe you're still in New York City!
