Edwardian 4 bed house in leafy west London suburb

Our Ealing home is spread over 3 floors with many original features, including fireplaces. Our children are teenagers but the property is family-friendly, and would be very comfortable for a couple too.

The loft / master bedroom is en-suite with a walk-in shower and large bath. The three bedrooms on the middle floor share a bathroom (with bath & shower). There is a bedroom at the front with a single bed and sofa bed. The other two bedrooms at the rear have single beds.

Downstairs is a lounge, large open plan kitchen / dining room / lounge leading to a pretty garden which has a private / sheltered seating area at the end, plus a table and chairs for 6 people just outside the patio doors.

Lounge 1: 40" TV, DVD + Virgin Media / cable TV with surround sound. The room has two sofas plus a chair set around an original fireplace. Lounge 2: 40" TV + Virgin Media / cable TV. Large sofa plus armchair and coffee table. This south-facing room gets sun all morning and into the afternoon. Wi-fi cover throughout the house.

The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, two ovens, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and wine cooler. There is a downstairs cloakroom and toilet.

We have two great reviews from another site which are copied below, but also references from a Swiss family with whom we have swapped 4 times!

REVIEW “Lovely house and family, well situated”
- Posted by Philippe & Joanne from Donnemarie-Dontilly, Seine-et-Marne, on 04/21/2013

We spent a wonderful holiday in this very welcoming home, in a quiet area close to London. The parental suit on the very top floor was a dream, with views over the rooftops and a gorgeous bathroom all to ourselves. The dining area and kitchen have all the modern appliances and the sun just flooded in from the skylights. Their little garden at the back was a lovely place to relax after a busy day in London.

It was a great pleasure to swap with the Haigh`s who left our home even tidier than when we left!

REVIEW “London is fantastic and fantastic exchange !!!”
- Posted by MURIELLE from MONTPELLIER, Hérault, France on 10/20/2014

We had a great holiday in London. Obviously the city is great, and I will talk about it later. But the success of these holidays is also due to the housing conditions we had. The house of the Haigh family is perfect. We were able to rest, and we recharge every night, coming home from our visits. It is very well located, close to metro lines and bus stops in a quiet residential area. It is a very pleasant house. We had prepared our journey upstream, with the advice of the Haigh family who helped us by email, Skype, giving us advice, preparing maps, directions, learning about rates, etc. Thank you again for your help and kindness!

About London: A must visit! It`s a fantastic city. Most museums are free, the parks are huge and beautiful. We were lucky to see a musical (Mamma Mia, great!). The districts are different from eachother. Our favorite was Camden Town: I`d never imagined we would see barges and locks in London. Then of course there is the inevitable Buckingham Palace, London Tower and London Bridge, Piccadilly Circus, London Eyes (to visit absolutely). Most of all ... as a fan of James Bond, we took the opportunity also to make a "pilgrimage" to all the places the filming of Skyfall ... Anyway, we thought at first to visit London for a week and spend the second week on visiting around London. Finally we stayed in London, as there were so many different things to visit.Pure happiness!

About the location

The large park at the end of our road, with a children`s play area, leads to a meadow and the GrandCanal. Local amenities - for example shops, supermarkets, a pharmacy, local pub, restaurants are close by.

The nearest train line is the Piccadilly Line which runs between Heathrow and Central London, so it is only 15 minutes to Heathrow or 25 minutes to Covent Garden / Piccadilly and London`s West End. The station is a short walk. Buses also run from the end of our road.

We are close to road transport links, including M4, M3, M25, M40 and North Circular so access to the rest of the country and countryside is very easy by car.
