Bulls Head

The Bulls Head is situated in the centre of Shap village, 3 miles from Junction 39 of the M6. Shap is an ideal place from which to explore the Lake District, the Lowther valley and Eden. We are 15 minutes from Penrith and Kendal, and most of the Lake District is within easy reach. We also have some stunning wild fells a stone’s throw from our back door.

The Bulls Head is a recently converted former public house dating back to 1712. It is very spacious, comfortable and warm. Downstairs there is a large open plan area with kitchen/dining/living space, and a separate study. We also have a large separate room with table tennis and home cinema. Upstairs are two double bedrooms (one en-suite), three double bedrooms with single beds and a further bathroom. The house will easily accommodate two families. There is full use of all our facilities including Wi-Fi, PC’s, washing machine, games consoles, TV, home cinema and so. Swappers can also have access to bikes, a canoe and our second car if required. Outside is a garden with kids play equipment and space for parking three cars at the front of the house and three at the back. The house and garden are very child friendly and we are an ideal base for families wanting to explore this area.

We have done several house swaps over the last couple of years and have found it a revelation!! We are open to swaps in either countryside/outdoor activity areas such as Scotland, Snowdonia, Cornwall etc but also enjoy City breaks, particularly London. We are though open to offers so give us a try!!

We have three respectful children aged 11, 8 and 5, and are particularly looking for swaps in school holidays, throughout the year. We would be open to larger groups (two families/extended families) using our house, and would be keen to find similar properties to use ourselves.

Shap is a very friendly village. Probably most well known as a stopping off point on the coast to coast footpath route, but mainly for its weather!! There is a Co-op, café and newsagent with a hundred yards and an award winning fish and chip shop opposite our house. The village has three pubs all within easy reach, playgrounds, sports fields and also boasts England’s highest heated outdoor swimming pool!! http://www.shapswimmingpool.co.uk/
