Cosy renovated house in the Centre of France

Situated in a quiet village in the Auvergne (central rural France, recently listed on the UNESCO world heritage) my home is an old house newly renovated and fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, internet etc. Also a good collection of books in French and English as reading a good novel in English is one of my favourite pastimes!

Living in the house is also our cat, Lady. She`s well behaved and only asks for her food everyday, but I have sometimes left her for three days and she didn`t complain...

Downstairs is an independent studio with sofa bed + one single bed and its own private bathroom.

There`s also a large terrace at the back of the house and beautiful views from the kitchen and living room.

I also have an allotment across the road, plenty of tomatoes and courgettes etc. in summer! Also, children`s games, possible to watch them from the kitchen!

The region`s website is auvergne.com -to get an idea of what it has to offer. It is mostly famous for its volcanoes). There is a swimming pool a 5mn drive away (with sauna). Same for shopping. Large city (Clermont-Ferrand)with cinemas restaurants museums etc. 17kms away. V.good train connections. Ideal for a quiet holiday in France.

Possibilities of skiing in winter (40 minutes) and hiking, mountain biking, fishing etc. in summer.

About the location

The Auvergne is situated in the centre of France, it is a quiet rural region that has a lot to offer : mountains, lakes, rivers (swimming and canoeing on the river Allier 5 mns from home)... It is is renowned for its volcanoes (see website of Vulcania, entertainment park for adults and children) and a wide variety of cheese! The landscapes are varied and the walks around here always offer wonderful views. No mass tourism yet fortunately!
