Cosy renovated cottage by the beach

We have a lovely cottage on a working farm in Northumberland. It is a semi-detached stone cottage across the dunes from a beautiful sandy beach (Druridge Bay) yet we are within driving distance of the cities of Newcastle upon Tyne & Durham and only 1 hour by train to Edinburgh.

The cottage was completely renovated in 2012 and now has an open kitchen and dining room, cosy sitting room with wood fired stove. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with double bed, and a twin bedroom. there is a double sofa ex in the sitting room if required for additional guests. There are enclosed gardens surrounding the house. The only neighbouring property is our own home next door.

About the location

The cottage is on a farm on the Northumbrian Coast. We are 1 mile from Cresswell village with a cafe and popular ice cream shop, and 2 miles from Widdrington which has a farm shop, cafe, village pub and another mile to a restaurant, takeaway and co-op.

We are ideally situated for exploring the North East Coast and Castles area.

The beach which is a few minutes walk from the cottage is called Druridge Bay and is a 7 mile stretch of sand where you can walk up to the fishing town of Amble with shops and restaurants.

We are on National Cycle Route Nr 1 and you can cycle to Amble almost totally on off road flat cycle routes along the coastal path.

You can visit Newcastle in 45 mins drive, and Morpeth and Alnwick in 20 mins.
