Comfortable family home, 15 minutes walk from the beautiful city walls of ancient York and river walks with history in every street.

House has 1 queen size & 1 king size & 1 double sofa bed in 3 bedrooms. 1 bathroom & separate toilet. Outdoor patio, garden, and off street parking. Cable TV, WiFi, computer access, toys/games. Friendly neighbours & family nearby. We have a low maintenance elderly rescue house cat but she is usually placed in a cattery or with friends.

Easy access to york from Manchester or Leeds Airports. We are 2 hours from Edinburgh by train & 2 hours from London. Ideally situated halfway for those looking for a base to tour further afield.

Roman, Viking & medieval history abound in York. Museums, restaurants, Galleries, Theatres, Horse Racing Course & riverside walks. York minster is a magnificent cathedral and the National Railway Museum is within easy walking distance of the house.

We are 20 minutes drive from beautiful countryside & walks. Nearby are the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby & Bridlington. James Herriot, Heartbeat & Bronte countryside all within easy driving distance. The Yorkshire Dales, Wolds & East Riding market towns are all close by. The vibrant city of Leeds is also nearby for world class shopping & nightlife.

We are experienced exchangers (27)and will look after your home. we will leave our cycles for your use. A convertible car is available for exchange (seats 4) or family car (seats 5).
In 2024 our son is moving to Melbourne Australia so we would ideally prefer an exchange in December/ early January for 3-4 weeks.

About the location

The local 5 sail magnificent windmill can be seen from our kitchen window, a beautiful sight. The York Cold War Bunker is 5 minutes walk away and an intriguing insight into 1960`s York.
