Cosy apartment in the northern part of Brussels closed to the Atomium

Cosy two-bedroom apartment located on the fourth and last floor of a modern building that offers all comforts.

There is a quite spacious living room opening west on a balcony with a view of the quiet street. On the left, you find a fully equipped kitchen that is separated from the living room.

The two bedrooms are located in the South/East part of the building, which is also in a tranquil area. The small bedroom has been turned into my home office, and it is no longer available for guests.

The bathroom has a bath tube too.

About the location

Laeken in French or Laken in Dutch is a residential suburb in the north-western part of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. It belongs to the municipality of the City of Brussels but before 1921, it was a separate municipality.

There is one supermarket at a walking distance (200 metres).

The subway is a very convenient way to explore Brussels and it is also located at 200 metres.

The Atomium is a landmark building in Brussels originally constructed for the 1958 Brussels World`s Fair (Expo `58). Nowadays, it is the city`s most popular tourist attraction and serves as a museum, an art centre, and a cultural place. All around there is a big, beautiful park.

Tour & Taxis. The impressive buildings of the former customs and goods station of Tour & Taxis have been turned into residences, as well as commercial activities. Inside you can find the Gare Maritime a pioneering hub combining work and hang-out experiences, located along the canal. You can discover there the Belgian terroir with 10 new street food concepts, in market style format, the so-called Food Market.

Royal Palace (the official home of the Belgian Royal Family, you can`t visit it)

Royal Greenhouses (open to the public only in spring during the blossoming season)

Church of Our Lady (where the members of the Belgian Royal Family are buried)
Laeken Cemetery (located behind the church, is known as the Belgian Père Lachaise, after the famous cemetery in Paris, because it used to be the burial place of the rich and the famous)

Chinese Pavilion and Japanese Tower (The Chinese Pavilion is part of the Museums of the Far East. The Japanese Tower is a pagoda).

In 20 minutes by public transport you will be in the Grand Place, considered as one of the most beautiful places of the world. The Grand-Place is surrounded by the guild houses, the City Hall and the Maison du Roi. All those buildings can be visited.

Brussels’ cuisine and gastronomy offer waffle, excellent chocolate, fries and numerous types of beers.
