Welcoming family home in historic village setting with hill views, close to Edinburgh

Historic village setting, just 7 miles south of Edinburgh, our comfortable detached family home is in world-famous Roslin with Rosslyn Chapel (as featured in "The Da Vinci Code" film and book), as well as a romantic Scottish castle and a 700 year old battlefield site too. Lovely field and hill views from front of house.

Ideal base for touring Scotland and the north of England. Very close to the Capital city of Edinburgh - one of the most beautiful cities in the world, which each August hosts the Edinburgh International Festival of the Arts, and the Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle. In December, there is a Winter Wonderland in the city and many events surrounding Edinburgh's Hogmanay - the 2nd biggest New Year festival in the World. It is only a 30 minute drive to the white-sand east coast beaches, and an easy hour and a quarter drive to the spectacular mountain and loch scenery of the Scottish Highlands. In the winter we are only an easy 2 hour drive away from 5 Scottish skiing resorts.

We have 2 cats called Otis and Freddie who would like to stay at home with you while we are away. However we can arrange for neighbours or friends to come in to feed them if you plan to stay away overnight. Our daughter is at university and may or may not travel with us.
