Paradise in the Sierra Nevada

We never exchange in July and August.

No pets-no kids; because... our cats won't come home if there is another dog in the garden, so therefore ... no pets and our area and territory simply are not suitable for kids. The house is our main residence. It is a spacious house, but we only make one double bedroom and one bathroom available for max. two guests.

The house (200m2) with 2000m2 garden lies 40km north from the Costa de Almeria, not surrounded by other houses, at a goatpath. Two hundred meter from an asphalt road and a hamlet, 2 km from a little village with all necessary shops, bars, restaurants and a pharmacy. Traditional Spanish rural life and white mountain villages all around. Long term exchangers need to speak/understand some Spanish.

Our charming ladydog (born 30-4-2011) + 2 ladycats stay at home during exchanges under 3 weeks. They live in the garden during daytime, need food and some hugs and they sleep in the house.

Our house, a cortijo, is not self-explaining. Therefore we want you to be our guests 1-2 days before we leave, to explain you all the special things of the house and to introduce you to the dog and cats.

Temperatures; summer C 35 - C 20, winter C 18 - C2. Three weeks a month a warm and sunny blue sky. Cooling and heating; a fireplace + a wood burner + several electric elements and a fully equipped airco.

About the location

A rural mountain area ... Alpujarras... just within the boundaries of National Park Sierra Nevada. Surprisingly green all year around. About 45km from the Mediterranean coast, 60km from Almeria Airport, 180 km from Malaga Airport.

There is a regular bus service from Almeria and El Ejido 3times a day to Fondón, which is 2 km from our house. Easy walking distance. Rental cars are cheap from the airports and a car definitely is convenient in this area.
