Beautiful, large home in a country setting at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the American West. We are located in Northern Nevada 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe, Reno and the old west town of Virginia City with numerous summer and winter activities from hiking, skiing and golf to casino shows, restaurants and nightlife.

Our home is large, comfortable and bright with modern conveniences and beautiful grounds and can easily accommodate 8 guests. There are two master bedroom suites with attached bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, two additional bedrooms share a bathroom upstairs. A sunny kitchen, dining area, two living room/family room/entertainment areas and small parlor give plenty of space for gathering or a quiet read. The upstairs has a theater room where you can watch movies on the big screen. We also have a large patio with hot tub, vegetable garden, and yard with beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain views.

An exchange car is available. We have our home professionally cleaned so you can be sure to enjoy your stay. We are boarding horses on our property, however you will have no responsibility for them. Their owner comes to feed them daily and can assist you with anything you need. We have one old cat that sleeps 23.5 hours a day and sits on your lap for the rest of the time.

About the location

You will find desert sunsets, mountain lakes, wild horses and abundant sunshine. San Francisco is an easy 4 hour drive, Yosemite is 3 hours, Napa wine country is 3.5 hours and Lake Tahoe is just 20 minutes from our driveway. There are walking trails nearby and hiking, camping and fishing in the Sierra Nevadas. There are also several lakes and natural hotsprings nearby. We have bicycles and a kayak for your use and can even discuss use of our small caravan camper trailer. This area is wonderful summer or winter for families or couples and will allow you to see much of the American West and national parks. A short flight to Las Vegas is easy and from there you can visit the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam.

We are near the state border with California and there are many wineries within a beautiful day`s drive. Reno has a baseball stadium, beer breweries and pubs, and loads of festivals and entertainment. Combine your visit with a trip to Burning Man or skiing or sailing on Lake Tahoe.
