Lovely 3 Bed home in St Pierre, Reunion

Reunion island is in the Indian Ocean, just next to Mauritius. Our home is a typical creole house nestled in the pretty traditional fishing quarter of "Terre sainte" near the main town of St Pierre in the south of the island. We have a sea-view of the Indian ocean from our dining table and the beach in the photo is just in front of the house - perfect for a quick dip before breakfast!

A short walk or bike ride (no car necessary) along the seafront takes you into St Pierre where there is a long stretch of sandy beach with its coral lagoon for swimming and snorkelling and easy access surf spot.

The town of St Pierre is big enough to be lively (good mix of french and creole culture - plenty of restaurants, shops + caf?s etc) yet small enough to get to know your way around. Good bus networks for exploring the rest of the island if you want to avoid renting a car.

The rest of the island offers fantastic hiking in the mountains, variety of water activtiies (diving, surfing etc), whale spotting (August/September time) and a frequently-errupting volcano.

Please bear in mind, it gets hot in December and January time so only for sun-seekers (but we do have air-conditioning). "Winter" is July/August, similar temperatures to a british summer. Also, flights are expensive (see Air France, Air Mauritius) but day to day costs are on a par with France.
