Nottinghamshire

Our comfortable, colourful home is very child-friendly with a long sunny garden, a dining room looking out onto the garden, a big lounge area, recently updated kitchen, hall, downstairs toilet and upstairs bathroom with bath and shower.

The bedrooms are :
- Loft room with a single bed and trundle bed underneath (pulls out)
- Teenage room with a small double bed
- Main bedroom with double bed
- Guest bedroom with a single bed in but another underneath than pulls out

All mod cons in kitchen including washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, bread maker, double oven etc.

Our children are 17 (girl) and 14 (boy) so we have the normal range of books, board games, craft materials, DVDs, lots of lego etc. 5 bikes available (all adult size). Musical instruments include a piano and 2 guitars. Pets are a cat, 2 guinea pigs and 2 fish tanks. We could arrange for someone else to look after the guinea pigs if you didn`t want to do that. Although the children are teenagers now, we have a range of toys and books for younger children.

The garden has a patio with furniture, veg plot, darts board. Garage has range of outdoor toys plus table football.

Full Wifi, smart TV, DVD, music systems etc.

Parking out front for 2 cars off road. We live on a quiet street which is a dead-end so very low traffic.

About the location

We live 10 mins drive from junction 25 of the M1, 20 minutes drive from East Midlands airport and 20 minutes drive from the centre of Nottingham.

Beeston is the closest small town centre with a wide range of shops, a cinema and restaurants - 20 minute walk or 5 mins by tram / bus. We have two great playgrounds near to us including free tennis courts.

There are 2 local leisure centres with swimming pool, gym, badminton courts etc.

Attenborough Nature Reserve is a 20 minute walk away or 5 minute drive - lovely for long or short walks or bike rides with three cafés for a pit-stop. You can also walk/ride along the River Trent to a variety of pubs or cafes.

Nottingham is a vibrant city - theatres, art, shopping, music, many parks and playgrounds. There is a tram line outside our back gate with stops about 5 minutes walk in each direction. The tram takes you directly to Beeston, Nottingham and beyond. One of the novelties is the network of man-made caves dug under the City; you can go on tours to learn about their history, including the only cave tannery ! Nottingham Castle is also impressive but this is closed until 2020 for renovation. Don`t miss the Trip to Jerusalem Pub - the oldest pub in England.... For sport try Nottingham Tennis Centre, Nottingham Forest and Notts County Football Clubs, Trent Bridge cricket and Holme Pierrepoint watersports centre. Nottingham University has very pleasant grounds including a massive playground, mini golf, a boating lake, an art gallery, theatre, 2 cafes and an arboretum. Wollaton Hall is also worth exploring.
An outdoor water sports centre called Spring Lakes opened last year; this is 15 mins drive away and offers open water swimming, wakeboarding, pedalos, a beach...

Beeston train station is 5 mins away by car or a short walk from the centre of Beeston. The station is on the direct line to London (1 hr 20 mins fast train). Other trips possible by day are Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, York, Lincoln, Peak District.

Sherwood Forest (Robin Hood) is 40 mins drive away and the Peak District is 40-60 mins by car. There are some great National Trust properties nearby as well and Alton Towers (40 mins drive).
