Here is where Hollywood created some of its Academy-award movies because California's great outdoors have always been among its favorite places. Perhaps our most attractive feature is our perpetual sunshine and Italian-like climate.

With great woods, swimming and spacious natural beauty nearby, it's easy to imagine being in England's Sherwood Forest with Robin Hood's merry men nearby.

Once considered to be like Andy Griffith's Mayberry, our area of California (Chico pop. 84,396) is considered one of the best places to live in the USA.

We're located on the gateway to Lassen National Volcanic Park Ski Area (10,457-ft peak) and five minutes from a lovely university campus (15,919 students).

Chico's Bidwell Park (10 miles long) is popular for walking, fishing, golfing, horseback riding and swimming. Sanctuaries for migrating birds have made Canadian geese permanent residents.

It was the locale of Hollywood's "Adventures of Robin Hood," starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Haviland. Other films like the "Thin Man" and "Gone with the Wind" were shot locally as well.

Sleeps four (six with pullout couch). Spacious modern kitchen/diner and office. Main bedroom en suite and guest room w/bath. All rooms heated/air conditioned. Easy stroll to shops, restaurants, and countryside.

Family room has TV, DVD, VCR, and satellite dish. Office comes with computer, internet and large library. Two cats, needing minimal attention, can sleep anywhere (even with neighbors when desired).

San Francisco one-hour by air (United); Sacramento 2 hrs (bus/rail); Sutter's Mill at Coloma (2 1/2 hours); Lake Tahoe (4 hours); and Yosemite (5 hours).
