A remantled 1844 Mennonite Barn with a Board and Batten exterior, married to an 1876 Stone Carriage House in historic Fergus, Ontario. Voted two of the ten most beautiful towns in Ontario, Fergus, and its charming sister town, Elora (3 kms away), are united by the glorious geography of the Grand River as it spills into the Elora Gorge. Five bedrooms include one ensuite with king sized teak bed, tv/dvd, balcony, jacuzzi tub, shower; three bedrooms on main, second and third floor with double bunk beds and a fourth bedroom with a king size bed and beautiful custom ornamental glass. In total our house can sleep between 10-12 people which makes it great for a family reunion. The Great Room-- a huge open concept room framed by massive timbers and spanning three floors includes soaring 36 ft. ceilings, custom leaded glass, a natural gas fireplace, a dining area that seats 10, an indoor kitchenette and option to use main kitchen in Stone Carriage house, three bathrooms (plus 1 in the stone kitchen). Three cozy lounge areas, one on each floor, provide quiet spaces to relax and to socialize. Four seasons of great activities for residents and visitors alike include cross-country skiing and snowshoeing along our many scenic trailways and ice fishing in the winter and world class flyfishing in the summer and fall. Summer months offer a variety of world class festivals in Fergus/Elora, including the Fergus Scottish Festival, the Elora Music Festival the Fergus Fall Fair, and the Hillside Music Festival. Enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming, tubing in the Elora Gorge, kayaking the Grand River, boating, swimming and birdwatching at Belwood and Guelph Lakes, cycling, and nearby golfing.
