Fig Cottage

Fig Cottage is a semi-detached contemporary home with a modern-country style. Opposite the church at the heart of Easton village, it's situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills, with the Somerset Levels stretching out to the south.

Our home has an open plan kitchen dining room, with french doors out to the south facing garden, and double doors into the living room with smart TV. There is a utility/laundry room and WC on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a family bathroom with separate bath and shower, an office/guest room with the option of single, twin or double configuration, and two further double bedrooms. The master has an ensuite with shower.

The garden has a dining patio, with table, chairs and heater. A small lawn and some shrubs, including climbing Jasmine and a beautiful Fig tree (hence the name Fig Cottage).

We have a driveway for two cars at the back of the house, accessed through the garden gate - which we use as our main entrance. We share the car port with our neighbours.

About the location

On our doorstep are some incredible walks with views stretching far and wide. Something for all abilities can be found! Our neighbouring village Wookey Hole is home to spectacular caves - which you can enjoy via a gentle walking tour or an adrenaline fuelled caving experience.

To the east, our home is a 6 minute rural drive into the nearby medieval town of Wells. Wells is known for it's Cathedral, Bishop's Palace and as a popular filming destination. It has lots of cafe's, pubs and restaurants and a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

To the west, our home is a 15 minute drive to Cheddar Gorge and Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site popular with tourists, climbers, caving enthusiasts, hikers and families. There are a collection of tea rooms and restaurants here, as well as visitor attractions such as crazy golf, cave tours and abseiling.

To the north, we are a 50 minute drive to the vibrant city of Bristol; music, art, Banksy, black history, museums and amazing food inspired by world cuisine. Also the Georgian city of Bath; home to author Jane Austen and known for its incredible architecture and great shopping.

To the south, we are 15 minutes from Glastonbury; with it's Tor which you can see for miles around, unique artisan shops and home to the Glastonbury Music Festival.

Other places of interest nearby include the West Ham Nature Reserve; great for a flat cycle and bird watching. The Mendip Activity Centre; where you can ski, snowboard, disc golf, axe throw and more. Cheddar Reservoir; open to pre booked water sports. The Mendip Hills AONB; ideal for walkers. Clarks Village; for discount designer shopping.

We have lots more suggestions too! Including ideal relaxation spots and nearby spa's.
