Light and spacious townhouse with amazing views

Four-floor Victorian townhouse, recently renovated to a high standard. Light and south-facing, with fantastic views. Excellent location, handy for town and countryside.

The house has two double bedrooms (one with en suite loo) and a large bathroom. The sitting room is large, with an open fire, and the top floor has amazing views over the Stroud valleys.

- Light kitchen with folding doors to courtyard garden: oven, dishwasher, induction hob, washer-dryer, microwave, etc. Courtyard has table and chairs.
- Large sitting room, with desk and chair, two sofas, two armchairs, tv with Chromecast, open fire which you're welcome to use.
- First floor has double bedroom and large bathroom with underfloor heating, stone floor, walk-in shower and large freestanding bath.
- Second floor very light double-aspect double bedroom with en-suite loo, desk and Aeron chair, and large balcony with glass doors and amazing views.

The house is in the Stroud conservation area, on a pleasant residential street five minutes from the centre of town, and five minutes from open countryside. Free parking on the street outside.

Two people can can work from home here (we do) - there is a desk in the sitting room and desk on the top floor.

We are 10 minutes' walk from a large Waitrose and from Stroud station. We are a 20-minute drive from the M5, and you can be in Bristol in 40 mins or Cheltenham in 30 mins. There is a local bus service, and Stroud station has direct trains to London Paddington in 90 minutes.

We have a well-behaved cat, who we'd like to bring with us - your own cat(s) would be very welcome.

About the location

Stroud is a lovely Cotswolds town with a busy farmers' market every Saturday (often named the best in Britain) and lots of independent shops, galleries and cafes.

it is great for walking, with the Cotswold Way running through the town, and amazing landscapes. Our favourites are (all walkable from the front door):

- a climb to spectacular views at Rodborough, Minchinhampton and Selsley commons
- walking down the canal to Stroud Brewery or Felt cafe
- a hilly stroll to the Woolpack or Black Horse pubs
- down the Cotswold Way to the lovely villages of Painswick and Bisley.

There's also a cinema, pubs, restaurants and music venues.

Excellent for a car-free holiday - there is a fast train to Paddington, we are 10 minutes' walk from the station and there is tons of walking and things to do on foot.
