Cottage near Ulverston centre - Lake District

Our 180 year old stone cottage is colourful, comfy and cosy. It has been our family home since 1950. The house is on a quiet street 2 minutes walk from Ulverston historic town centre. Each of the two bedrooms has double beds. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. The house is centrally heated, with an extra coal effect gas fire in the living room. The lovely back garden overlooks a field with ducks, geese and hens (not ours).

About the location

Ulverston (pop 12000) is a market town on the edge of the Lake District, near Morecambe Bay. There has been a church at the end of our road since 1111. There is Manjushri Buddhist centre and the Quaker Swarthmoor Hall just outside town. The town centre has 2 small supermarkets, lots of independant shops, a music/theatre venue (Coro Hall), an Art Deco cinema and the Laurel & Hardy museum. Nearby, is community run Ford Park, which hosts Saturday morning Park Runs. There is a Rail Station and buses into central Lake District. There are lots of walks from the house, including the Cumbria Way, Sir John Barrow monument and down the canal to the sea. We are near a C2C cycle path.
