Family house in Old City - Quebec City
Our house is full of character and warmth. It is tall and narrow with basically two to three rooms per floor, plus an attic and a cellar. We have lived here for more than 20 years and never want to live anywhere else. My family is from here and I have extended family in the neighbourhood. We have a beautiful back yard which is quiet and full of birds.
It is in the best location in Quebec city, a World Heritage Site, that you could possible find, between the Citadel and the Chateau Frontenac. We are in the heart of Old Quebec, but on a back street away from the crowds. You can see the St. Lawrence River the minute you step out of the door. Horse-drawn carriages trot by the door. Our neighbours are kind, helpful and quiet.
It is a 20-minute cab ride from the airport.
About the location
You can walk to the Plains of Abraham and all the tourist attractions of Quebec city in just a few minutes. There are bike paths all around the city.
Or you can be in the wilderness in 20 minutes (by car), to go walking, kayaking, biking etc.
Down the river at Tadoussac you can see many species of whale in the mouth of the Saguenay River, and even blue whales if you`re lucky.
