The house is a 2003 stone built detached house which we have lived in since new. It is located in a block paved courtyard setting of seven other properties.
About the location
Chatton is an unspoilt village located in North Northumberland midway between Newcastle upon Tyne to the south and Edinburgh the Scottish capital to the north.There is a village shop with a post office and a village pub/restaurant & hotel. Several market towns are within easy reach including Alnwick the home of The Duke of Northumberland, Berwick upon Tweed and Kelso our nearest Scottish Border town.
Closer to us are the smaller towns of Wooler to the west and Belford to the east, both 5 miles away, each having a supermarket, farm shop, pharmacy, cafes, restaurants and doctors.
Northumberland is renowned for its historic sites of interest. Within easy travelling distance from the village you have the castles of Bamburgh, Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Alnwick, Chillingham, Walkworth and Flores together with the beaches of Holy Island, Ross, Bamburgh, Seahouses and Alnmouth. Walking is catered for in abundance with the Cheviot Hills and the Scottish Border Country only a few miles away.
Edinburgh ,Glasgow ,Newcastle upon Tyne and the cathedral cities of Durham and York can be easily reached by car or by train from Berwick upon Tweed.
Hadrians Wall with its Roman Forts and the town of Hexham are to the west of the county as is the Lake District.
