Flexible accommodation, in a small country town - best of all worlds! home swap
3 bedrooms - two doubles and one single (but large study can offer additional sleeping accommodation for people happy to use pull-out bed). I'm not too precious about how many people stay, as long as they look after the place and consider the neighbours.
Kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine (there's also a local laundry just round the corner). Freezer located in workshop, accessible from house.
Dining room, living room, large study which can serve as an additional living room or a sleeping area. If you want to use my computer, I'm afraid you have to stand up!
Bathroom with power shower over bath upstairs. Shower room downstairs which has an almost level access, and there is a grabrail by the toilet.
Plenty of books to read.
Can provide dog towels, bed etc. and happy for dog food cupboard to be raided!
Small enclosed garden at the front with bench. Small garden at back not currently enclosed, but plans that it will be by Summer 2016!
There is a garage, but I never use it for the car - on-street parking is easy enough. The garage will be available for locking away bikes.
About the location
Located near the high street in this lovely country town situated one hour South of Edinburgh and all its galleries, museums, theatres and many cultural activities (and shopping of course).
Innerleithen itself boasts two rivers - the Tweed being well known for its salmon fishing, and is surrounded by woods, hills and stunning scenery. Two long distance walks pass within a mile and a half - the Southern Upland Way (the longest route in the UK) and the St. Cuthbert's Way.
For cycling enthusiasts, we are four miles from Glentress - one of the top mountain biking destinations in the world, and Innerleithen itself hosts frequent national and international downhill biking events.
There is a beautiful 9 hole golf course at the edge of the town.
St. Mary's loch is less than half an hour away.
The town is small, but we are lucky to have two great cafes and a couple of great hotels that serve lovely food, and a well reviewed Indian Restaurant. For more choices, you only have to travel 6 miles to Peebles, or 27 to Edinburgh. The local shops will meet all your grocery needs.
