Glasgow Tenement home swap

My home is a second floor Victorian flat, built around 1905, and retains many original features with 11 foot high ceilings. It is located in a peaceful cul-de-sac overlooking a tree- lined embankment beside a river. The large parquet-floored hall is shelved with a diverse collection of books. The 18 foot bay-windowed lounge has original polished floorboards with a traditional fireplace. The double bedroom is south facing like the lounge while the single bedroom looks onto the back court. The kitchen is well- fitted with the dining table easily accommodating six people. The galley bathroom, characteristic of Glasgow tenements, has original wood panelling and has a bath with overhead electric shower. Overall the flat is spacious and bright. It has been my home for over 7 years and is my haven from busy city life.

About the location

Shawlands is less than 3miles south of the city centre, with Glasgow Airport 20 minutes away. It is a vibrant suburb with a good variety of individual shops, restaurants, pubs and a lively music scene. It is very well serviced by buses and trains to the city centre. Queens Park, one of Glasgow's most well-known parks, is within walking distance of the house. As well as a plethora of Victorian and Edwardian houses, there are many other properties in the area of architectural interest, including buildings by Alexander "Greek" Thomson. The renowned Burrell Collection museum, situated in Pollok Park, is a 20 minute walk from the house.
