Beautifully restored old farmhouse, 30 minutes from Bergerac in lovely location

19th century stone farmhouse, sympathetically restored and extended. Lovely rural location but not isolated (we cycle to the nearest village of Lauzun most days for our croissants, about 2 miles.) There is a large well-maintained garden. There is no swimming pool. The house is near to the attractive mediaeval towns of Eymet, (6 miles) Castillones, (6m miles) and Lauzun. Bergerac airport is a very easy half hour drive. Bordeaux is a one and three quarter hour drive. The house is well equipped with every modern convenience....log burner, washing machine, American style fridge/freezer, ice cream maker, top of the range Paul Bocusse electric double oven/gas hob, dishwasher, sky tv, modern bath/shower-rooms, central heating (rarely used), air conditioning in master bedroom, sun-lounge and kitchen/breakfast room. There is an abundance of lovely restaurants in the area, stunningly beautiful countryside, loads and loads to do for children (there is a lovely safe swimming lake with clean sandy beach 15 minutes drive from the house), amazing castles, atmospheric night markets, bustling day markets, masses of festivals and cultural pursuits, all in an incredibly safe, very civilised part of this wonderful country.

About the location

Lovely rural location on the border of the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne.
Easy access to many beautiful historic towns including those rated as amongst the most beautiful in France ( official rating), including Monpazier, Domme , and Pujols.
Bergerac is a lovely town with a great atmosphere and fantastic restaurants.

We also have a lovely home in the stunningly beautiful Scottish Borders near Peebles, about 45 minutes drive from Edinburgh which we would consider swapping for shorter breaks. Buses into Edinburgh every 20 minutes.
