Unique Stone Home by the Lake home swap

Our home was part of a brewery that began operation in the mid 1800s. We have converted it to a comfortable living space with a large bedroom and ensuite bath on the ground floor, and an open living area with second bathroom on the upper level. This allows for a good view of Lake Ontario which is just steps away from our door. Our deck is a great place to relax with a drink. We can launch our kayaks at the beach, and paddle along the shore or into the downtown for dinner. Frequently we walk or cycle along the Waterfront Trail that is beside the property.

About the location

Historic Portsmouth Village is a charming lakefront area of Kingston. There is shopping nearby, and the Olympic Harbour, built for the sailing events of the 1976 Montreal Olympics, is across the road from our home. Downtown Kingston is a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute bike ride. Public transit is a few minutes walk with frequent service. The grand stone buildings and vibrant downtown are a great draw to the area.
The countryside around Kingston has rolling farmland and lakes, the Rideau Canal with its interesting locks, and lovely roads for a drive or bike ride.
